Tonight, Daylesford turns up for the CFA.
The Friday Night Community Raffle is on at the Daylesford Hotel from 5.30pm, with the draw at 7pm.
There’s the famous meat tray, a fruit & veggie tray, plenty of other prizes and B**r Pong, Daylesford Hotel style: choose a number for $20, watch them spin the wheel and you could win a $100 pub voucher.
But throughout October, this local Friday night ritual means a little more.
The Community Raffle is raising funds for our local CFA.
Discover Daylesford has proudly supported the local Christmas CFA fundraiser for many years, so this is a cause especially close to our hearts.
Come down, grab a drink, buy a ticket, and help support the people who always show up for us.

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to head to Daylesford, this is it. 🌸

There’s a tiny window every spring when the town erupts into blossom. Streets turn white and pink almost overnight and, just as quickly, it’s gone. And that window is right now.

There’s also a rather excellent new reason to make a weekend of it. Leggatt St W**e Bar has flung open its doors by the lake (although we’re already calling it Legs on the Lake).

Exceptional w**e, ridiculously good things to eat and some very familiar faces from the upper echelons of Victorian hospo.

Grab your two or four-legged bestie, settle in for the afternoon, wander next door to Walters for an ice cream, toastie or drink, take a lap of the lake, book a table at Boathouse and then retire somewhere rather lovely overlooking the water.

Because Daylesford in spring is glorious at the best of times.

Fancy hanging with this mob? 🦘

This Saturday, the Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network is hosting a guided Kangaroo Walk & Talk at Hanging Rock.

Spend an hour among the reserve’s resident kangaroo mobs, learning about their behaviour, social structures and the lives unfolding within one of Victoria’s most extraordinary landscapes. 🥾

Because driving home afterwards seems unnecessarily responsible, make a weekend of it.

🏡 Ashbourne Farmhouse is a spacious farm stay just outside Woodend and around 10–15 minutes from Hanging Rock. With five bedrooms and room for up to 13 guests, it’s made for bringing your own mob. Keep an eye on the paddocks — you may meet a few locals there too.

Or plan a future escape at Norsu Cabin, a Scandi-inspired log cabin at the foot of Mount Macedon, featured as one of The Age’s 52 Best Weekends Away.
