Our first Lake Eyre Flights from Brisbane with Graham Reid last weekend, saw us receive this wonderful compliment.....
G’day Deb & Graham,
Thank you both for what was truly “an amazing experience”.
Graham, your enthusiasm was infectious. Your knowledge for your subject Matter was boundless. Your presentation was generous. You turned a vast canvas that could have been boring into a tapestry.
I had the pleasure of flying to Antarctica on the night of 31/12/25 and at midnight we were circling Mount Erebus (the world’s southern most active volcano) in a Qantas dreamliner in broad daylight drinking champagne with a conga line of passengers in the aisles. We were treated to 4 hours of non stop commentary by people who had spent multiple Winters in Antarctica, a Qantas captain who had flown to Antarctica 50 times, a glaciologist, live radio interview with an Antarctic base commander and a tour guide who had been 50 times. We were doing left and right circles around mountains that were 6,000 metres high.
I have to say that your presentation of our continent’s flat centre was up there with them.
Please take this the right way- we thought that your enthusiasm to peer out the right and then jump over to the left and then back again to the right and grab the microphone reminded us of a kelpie on the back of a Toyota tray back trying to decide which cattle needed to be eyeballed or barked at or chased.
Yours sincerely,
John
