Mark Douglass is a well-known Australian artist, interior designer and entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience within the fine art and design industry. Awarded 2012 Churchill Trust Fellowship, this prestigious award recognises Mark's impressive body of work as a master glass artist, as well as the contribution he has made over more than 20 years to the Australian glass art industry. as been responsible for the design of many projects in Australia and most recently in Macau and Mainland China where Mark has been commissioned to design a range of feature glass installations for Crown Casino Macau, Galaxy Casino Macau, Grand Park Hyatt, Crowne Plaza Guangzhou, Westin Hotel Xiamen, Sheraton Hotels and MGM Casino Macau.

A custom Urchin ceiling light composed of individually hand blown clear glass elements assembled onto a steel framework and illuminated from within. Part sculpture and part lighting fixture, the piece explores the interplay of light, transparency and form.

We were proud to contribute to this project with our Pebble Oval dining pendants designed to echo the beauty of natural materials and craftsmanship throughout the home.

A thoughtful, refined space that celebrates texture, light, and form.

This project was recognised with a Commendation for Residential Architecture Houses (New) at the AIA Victorian Architecture Awards 2021, and a Commendation for Sustainability at the Houses Awards 2021.

A huge installation of custom hand-blown pendants set into a panelled ceiling structure.

Designed as a space where creativity can flow and ideas can grow, this was a major project for us and one that truly transforms the room.

Designing a pendant begins with the colour composition which tones sit next to each other, how they graduate across the fitting, whether they contrast or blend.

This is closer to painting than product design. A two-colour pendant like this one requires the same thinking as a curated room scheme.
