🇧🇸🎶Born on 14 October 1947 in Nassau, New Providence, Eddie Minnis is a celebrated Bahamian artist, cartoonist and songwriter whose work has helped capture the spirit, humour and cultural identity of The Bahamas.

Although trained as an architect, Minnis followed his passion for art, becoming known for vibrant paintings of Bahamian landscapes and distinctive depictions of island life. Through his popular “Pot Luck” political cartoons, he also used humour and satire to reflect on the nation’s social and political affairs.

His creativity extends to music, with songs inspired by everyday Bahamian experiences, making him a unique voice in the country’s cultural landscape. Beyond his own achievements, Minnis has supported the development of younger artists, helping nurture the next generation of Bahamian talent.

As he celebrates his 79th birthday, his legacy stands as a reminder that art and music are powerful expressions of national identity and pride. Through his paintings, cartoons and songs, Eddie Minnis continues to tell the story of The Bahamas and its people.
