Early start to rains brought on green season and life flowing via the Thamalekane into Maun by November already! Rains persisted until late April and the WATER has become a force to reckon with.

Ultimate routes tips when it comes to water-crossing:

• Ask locals or park officials for best routes and what to avoid.

• Ask fellow travelers the same, if they have come from your destination.

• Check for where tracks enter and exit a water-crossing.

• Walk the water first to check for depth and hidden obstacles - be on the lookout for wildlife, of course.

• Preferably travel in convoy & have recovery gear at hand.
