Adventures Newfoundland , formerly Canoe Hill Adventures, was founded in 2002 and is dedicated to providing quality sea kayaking experiences and Boat tours in the Bay of Exploits, Newfoundland and Labrador. We also offer kayak rentals as well as support to those who prefer to go it alone. Soon to come will be the addition of a remote accommodations facility located at the Surgeon Cove Head lighthouse property on historic Exploits Island.

One of the great things about an Adventure Tourism business is the people you meet and the places they’re from . This spur of the moment trio from Australia managed to pick a perfect day last week in a not so perfect spring for a day tour with us. A kayak and hiking tour of Exploits island with guide Peter Wheeler and a visit to an iceberg at the end of the day was a memorable experience for them. Although the iceberg was a bit far to kayak to, we paid it a visit by boat at the end of the day for the grand finale.

Last week we welcomed Esther and Robbe from Belgium on our first Exploits Island Multi-day tour . Despite the not so perfect weather , we did some kayaking , iceberg viewing , story telling and some hiking to the highest peaks. And what does one do when it’s not fit to go outside ?
