Field training report: 🌱🐾

Every Labrador puppy has two settings.

Photo 1: I am one with nature.
Photo 2: I have tasted nature and have questions.

Needless to say, outdoor adventures continue to be a crowd favourite around here.

🫣The camouflage phase lasted approximately 0.7 seconds.

It’s a small dog thing.

Sunday secret snuggles. 🤐

The Lodge guests have figured out a very important rule:
If you lean in close enough, eventually a staff member becomes your furniture.

The dogs have a system…

Step 1: Be adorable.
Step 2: Request cuddles.
Step 3: Get exactly what you wanted.

💁🏼‍♀️ Needless to say, staff compliance remains extremely high.

The dogs who live with us teach us just as much as the dogs we care for. ❤️

You see the photos of our team loving on Lodge guests every day. What you don’t see are the dogs waiting for them at home — the ones who made them dog moms in the first place.

The ones who start their days with their own dogs at home and spend the rest of them caring for yours.

The ones who celebrate the wins, hand out the belly rubs, notice the little changes, remember the quirks, and love every Lodge guest as if they were their own.

The ball has been claimed.

The little dogs are always the first to remind us that confidence has absolutely nothing to do with size.

12-lbs dogs owning their space.
Tiny dogs making big decisions.
And Frenchies who believe possession is, in fact, nine-tenths of the law.

When dogs are placed in an environment built for their success, confidence follows.

Things are warming up around here. ☀️💦

Sprinkler pawty season has officially returned.

Some dogs chase it.
Some dogs try to catch every droplet.
And some prefer to supervise the whole operation from a distance.

Different personalities.
Different ways to enjoy the day.

A whole new world. 🌿

This past weekend, the pups traded their familiar play area for grass under their feet, fresh air, and a whole new list of things to investigate.

Every corner needed exploring.
Every smell needed investigating.
And the water bowl quickly became the hottest attraction in town.

The world is getting a little bigger every day.

Pond time considerations. 💦

Is it even a successful pond time if:

1. We don’t stop for at least one photo op?
2. The staff don’t leave absolutely soaked?

The last one appears to be non-negotiable.

Safe to say “Bob Barker” and “Bella” followed the pond time protocol.
