🔥 Let’s Protect Our Resorts – Please make sure you clean up around your cabin


1. Create a Defensible Space
Reduce fuel around your home:
• Zone 1 (0–1.5 m / 0–5 ft):
o Remove dry leaves, pine needles, and debris
o Keep grass short and watered
o Move firewood and propane tanks away
• Zone 2 (1.5–10 m / 5–30 ft):
o Trim tree branches at least 2 m (6 ft) from the ground
o Space trees and shrubs apart
o Remove dead vegetation
• Zone 3 (10–30+ m / 30–100+ ft):
o Thin dense vegetation
o Remove fallen branches and brush

🏠 2. Harden Your Home
Make your home more fire-resistant:
• Clean roofs and gutters regularly
• Install spark arrestors on chimneys
• Use fire-resistant roofing/siding if upgrading
• Close gaps around vents (fine mesh screens help block embers)
• Store flammable materials away from structures

From flood to fire!

Due to the spring being late, the water for the campground and bathrooms will not be on for the May long weekend. I will post again when it is!

The water has receded by approximately 12 inches in the past 24 hours according to the stake that was placed at the boat launch.

If anyone is requiring assistance
evacuating, flood control or any other flood related help, please contact the municipal office at 306-323-
2101. Check the Blog regularly for updates.
The RM is also applying for PDAP
(Provincial Diaster Assistance Program) that RM residents can apply. Please take photos with times and dates to document all damage for claims.
Everyone should have 72hours worth of medications, groceries, gas and other essentials on hand.
You may want to leave a vehicle at the edge of your property in the event that you may need to evacuate.

The water has risen significantly in the past couple of days. Anyone with waterfront lots may want to come pick up anything that might float away or clear out to our storage sheds.
