I want to tell a story about last year’s Fall retreat because I think we can all see ourselves in this moment.
When we first set up the thermal cycle - parking the sauna near the river so people could cold plunge - we honestly didn’t know if anyone would actually do it.
I personally was not planning to - even though I created the experience!!
The women who came to the retreat were of different ages. Some came alone, and some came with friends.
Judy was a young woman and an experienced cold plunger. Swimming in the ocean in the winter was just a normal Friday night for her!
Diane was like me. No way, no how was she cold plunging in the river in November.
But something magical happens when women gather. Suddenly, what seemed impossible feels possible.
Judy offered to hold Diane’s hands. They locked eyes and counted to three. Then, together, they plunged.
Diane said it was one of the most profound experiences of her life.
Shortly after the retreat, she made a huge life decision. I don’t know if it was the plunge that gave her the courage, but it was a moment when she practiced stepping into her power.
Moments like these aren’t planned. Our retreats just create the space for them to unfold.
We are still welcoming guests to our Women’s Wellness Fall Retreat on November 14th at Sustainable Hill in Scotch Village, Nova Scotia. Come on your own or bring a friend! 💜
