It’s September 1st, camping season is winding down, and the locals are actively getting ready for winter!

Speaking of locals... if anyone can help me identify this hawk I caught snarfing a grouse, I’d love to know!

As much as I love the Yukon’s midnight sun, I love these last days of summer too, where a campfire actually feels deserved and sunset happens at a civilized hour.

With sun and warm weather in the forecast for this Labour Day long weekend, it’s the perfect time to get out camping, or launch the boat one last time before fall fully settles in.

Another great summer weekend at the Marina! Thanks to everyone who stopped by and enjoyed time on the water. We even hosted a family of river otters on Saturday morning!

Hello Boaters!
This is a reminder that boats should be removed from the marina by September 30th. Also note that there will be a private special event happening here on September 27th. This event will not affect access to boats or the boat launch but parking will be limited and expect more traffic than normal around the marina.

The Marsh Lake Triathlon will be starting at the Judas Creek Marina tomorrow July 1st at 10 am. So, if you're planning on launching your boat tomorrow I recommend avoiding 9:00 -10:00 am due to increased traffic from the triathlon.

Did you know? Typically, snowmelt begins refilling Marsh Lake by mid-May, and in 75% of years, it’s underway by May 23rd. The latest start of refill since 1980 was June 1st.

This year, due to ongoing unseasonably cool weather, we now expect lake refill after June 5th, which will be the latest on record. We're continuing to generate electricity with the water we have available, but are relying more on thermal generation (LNG and diesel) than usual.

It's a clear reminder that climate change is already impacting how we operate here in the Yukon. As conditions become less predictable, it’s more important than ever to invest in our electricity system to ensure climate resiliency for the decades ahead.
