Amazing experience to see if you get the chance. We happened upon two last year, at two different beaches.

Before dawn toda, thousands of olive ridley turtles came out of the Pacific at Ostional in what guides are calling one of the biggest arribadas of 2026 — and they were still arriving overnight.

There's a reason it happened this week and not last. There's also a rule that kicks in once the count passes about 1,000 turtles, and it changes who's allowed on the beach.

Green season is so beautiful and quiet in Costa Rica. It is also a very affordable time to visit. You will virtually have the place to yourself.

This is a great market to check out. Just a short drive over to Playa Potrero. The Monkey Trail is open and easy to navigate.
