El Bawaba (Arabic: البوابة)- In Arabic El Bawaba is translated as The Gate, The Portal, The Gateway, The Gate Keeper, The Star Gate, and The Sluice.

We have built 22 luxury rooms set against the mythical Theban Hills and the mystery of the Nile. El Bawaba Lodge and Luxury Retreat is located in a peaceful Luxor West Bank village, surrounded by banana plantations. Our roof panorama and sky-camp has views of the Nile, Luxor Temple, and the tombs of the Theban Hills. We are minutes from ancient monuments. Facts About the Experience- The Altitude: The balloon rises vertically to exactly 150 meters (492 feet) above the desert floor.The Flight Time: Each controlled flight lasts approximately 15 minutes.
What You See: A spectacular, uninterrupted 360-degree panorama of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the causeways, and the skyline of the brand-new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
Location & Footprint: To protect the delicate integrity of the UNESCO world heritage site, the launch pad sits roughly 2 kilometers from the pyramids and 2.2 kilometers from the Sphinx. The entire structure is eco-friendly, built exclusively out of lightweight, removable framing with zero concrete foundations or underground digging.

In 1978, Weeks devised and launched the Theban Mapping Project—an ambitious plan to photograph and map every temple and tomb in the Theban Necropolis.
