On Wednesday I had the pleasure to hold two sound baths for 3 NINES, an independent, peer-led wellbeing group created for blue light colleagues across the emergency services.
In the aftermath of the Bedford train accident, when people who had responded were looking for gentler ways to process what they had witnessed and find their footing again.
Over the evening I watched people settle, breathe more deeply and let the sound carry them somewhere quiet. Several mentioned how long and full their breathing became and how good it was to simply be together with colleagues they had not seen in a long time.
It is a privilege to give something back to those who give so much. Sound will not erase issues but it can offer a pause and sometimes a pause is all you need.
Thank you to everyone who came and to the team who organised it. I would be glad to welcome you all back.
