As of Tuesday 1st September, the temporary outdoor cooking restrictions have been lifted across Camping New Forest campsites.

BBQs and outdoor cooking equipment that are normally permitted on site can now be used again. However, with wildfire risk still present, we ask everyone to take extra care.

Please remember:
- This applies only on our campsites. Outdoor cooking including stoves and BBQs, campfires and fire of any kind remains permanently prohibited across the wider New Forest. Anyone found using this equipment outside of the campsites across the Forest is liable for a fine and prosecution.
- BBQs used on site must be fuelled by charcoal or gas, be sturdy, and raised off the ground.
- Disposable BBQs are not permitted.
- Cooking equipment should only be lit while in use and extinguished immediately afterwards.
- Fire pits are not permitted.
- Keep water nearby and know where your nearest fire extinguisher is located.
- If you spot a fire or incident, report it to campsite staff immediately.

Please never bring BBQs or outdoor cooking equipment inside tents, awnings, caravans or motorhomes due to the risk of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning ⚠️

Thank you for helping us protect the New Forest. Conditions continue to be monitored and restrictions may be reintroduced if required.
