🌟🌟🌟🌟 FOUR GOLD STARS! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
We’re absolutely delighted to share that Seal Shore Campsite, Kildonan has been awarded Four Gold Stars by the AA, with an outstanding Quality Score of 91%! 🥳🏕️
Since taking ownership, we’ve been working hard to invest in the site and make Seal Shore an even better place for our guests — so it means a huge amount to have those improvements recognised.
The AA assessor highlighted our improvements to reception and retail, including our fantastic range of Arran produce 🍦, the refreshed amenities, relaxation room, covered dining area and BBQ facilities, as well as our purpose-designed CWD unit.
They also praised our beautiful tiered pitches overlooking the sea, immaculate grounds, blooming planters, housekeeping and cleanliness, and even our outdoor wetsuit shower — something we know our adventurous guests appreciate! 🌊🥾
And there’s more to come… 👀
Our new dedicated beach access is taking shape, and we’re excited about the future plans for the old boathouse too.

Take some time out for self care!

Arran may seem like a million miles from hustling cities on the mainland, but we’re only an hours ferry trip away.

On Wednesday, 12th August 2026, there is going to be a partial solar eclipse. From here in Kildonan, the Moon will block out 93% of the Sun.
That means early in the evening between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, the sky will darken, and the Sun will turn into a glowing, fiery crescent!

And what's more, just a few hours after the eclipse, the Perseid meteor shower will reach its peak. Meaning you have a good chance of seeing brilliant lights shooting by in the sky for a two-in-one celestial evening!

And with South west facing panoramic views, Seal Shore will be an excellent place to see these.

Remember not to look into the sun directly. Tips on how to view the eclipse safely can be found on various websites.

Now half way through the season, our new facilities are still looking new and shiny. With the shower block being completely refurbished, we also added a drying room (ideal for the occasional days of rain), and a second day room - so there’s now a social day room and a relaxation room for those who want to curl up with a good book.
