Kirkstile Inn Kirkstile Inn The attractions for the early visitors in the sixteenth century remain today. Discover this special place for yourself.

Nestling between Loweswater and Crummock Water in the English Lake District, the Kirkstile Inn has been providing food and shelter for some four hundred years. The beauty that entranced the poets and painters remains unspoilt: the beck meandering through the meadow with the old oak trees fringing its banks, Melbreak towering impressively above, and stretching as far as the eye can see the fells, lakes and woods of Cumbria. Inside are the same low beamed rooms with welcoming open fires, good food, willing and friendly service and the same warm hospitality that has always characterised a good English Inn. The immediate countryside is ideal for walking, climbing, boating and fishing and after the exertions of a busy day the Kirkstile Inn provides the enjoyment of a good dinner and pleasant company over a drink. We aim to make your visit as enjoyable as possible and we really do like meeting people. We have a deserved reputation for providing a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Now serving HAMMOND’S SPIRITS ✨🥃

We’re delighted to welcome a trio of spirits from our Lake District neighbour, Richard Hammond, to the bar at Kirkstile.

🍸 RATIO - London Dry Gin
🥃 IRON RIDGE - English Single Malt Wh**ky
🥃 BEARING - Caribbean Spiced Rum

There’s a particularly special local connection behind Iron Ridge - the name comes from a hillside ridge visible from Richard’s home in the Lake District.

We’re pleased to be bringing his spirits to our corner of the Lake District!

Come and discover the range for yourself next time you’re at Kirkstile. ✨

What a special weekend at Kirkstile 🍻

We were delighted to welcome West Cumbria CAMRA for a meeting at the inn, and even more delighted when they surprised Roger & Helen Humphreys, owners of Kirkstile Inn & Cumbrian Ales, with a very special award.

The award recognises 25 years of superb b**r, brewing and great hospitality; a fantastic milestone and one we’re incredibly proud of.🍺

To make the day even more special, our very first brewer, Matt Webster, was there to celebrate with us too!

Here’s to the next 25 years! 🍻
