📍 Criccieth Castle

Originally built by the Welsh prince Llywelyn the Great, Criccieth Castle sits proudly on a rocky headland overlooking Cardigan Bay.

✨ Highlight: Climb to the twin-towered gatehouse for incredible views across the bay towards the mountains of Mid Wales. Afterwards, wander into town for a famous Cadwaladers ice cream. 🍦

📍 Harlech Castle

One of Wales' most iconic castles, Harlech stands dramatically above the dunes with spectacular views of the Eryri mountains and coastline.

🪨 Discover one of North Wales’ hidden ancient wonders…

Just a short walk from Bennar, you’ll find the ancient burial chambers known as the Cromlech of Dyffryn Ardudwy 🌿

The word cromlech comes from Welsh crom meaning “bent” and llech meaning “slab” which perfectly describing these fascinating prehistoric stone structures 🪨
Believed to date back over 4,000 years, the site is one of the most impressive Neolithic burial chambers in the area and a reminder of just how much history is hidden within the landscape here.

It’s a lovely local walk from Bennar, with beautiful countryside views along the way, perfect for stretching your legs and discovering a little Welsh history during your stay 🌄
