The Orange Elephant Ice cream Parlour The Orange Elephant Ice cream Parlour and Drive Thru Rob and Helen Taverner are reviving the old Devonshire Milking Cow on the farm as a milking breed.

Based just outside Exeter, why not come down and enjoy ice cream that has been made using modern methods but local sourced and tradition Devon ingredients, including milk from our famous Orange Elephants. Nicknamed Orange Elephants due to their distinctive ears, long noses and rusted coloured coats, over the course of the twentieth century they were just a beef breed. But their rich and creamy mil

k makes our incredible Orange Elephant Ice Cream that bit special. We are proud to be one of the only working farms to milk the Orange elephant still and the ice cream the milk produced must be tried... and the flavours are changing all the time too! Open Friday to Sunday during term time, and severn days a week in the School holidays. The Drive Thru and Elephant Barn is the place for buying ice cream and seating. Toilets are available in the Elephant barn. The Summer Meadow is also open for the kids to enjoy, with play equipment for the under 12s, sandpits, animals to see, and benches to sit down on.

I can honestly say I have so enjoyed this year albeit a lot to navigate-a lot of fun and lot work -just awsome!
Thank you to each and everyone who has supported us this season -here is todays team and we even had lunch delivered in!

Last day of 2026 opening!

We are open for the last day of our 2026 ice cream season.

We are open today 10 am to 5 pm and then we will be closed until Easter 2027.

For the last day of our season , the Summer meadow will be free entry!

Also as mentioned yesterday , please feel free to help yourself to windfalls and apples in the Summer Meadow.

We ask that people don’t not climb the apples trees or damage them.

Always tinge of sadness as we draw to a close, what a summer!
Sunshine, soo much ice cream and a beautiful wedding and a new granddaughter-doesn’t get better than that!
