Astronomy weekend has been rescheduled due to the Met Offices’ weather forecast, it will be now taking place on the weekend of the Summer Solstice - 20th and 21st June.

We will be moving the entire weekend over including the themed decorations and goodies so make sure you RSVP!

Our friends over at The White Hart in Trudoxhill are hosting another fantastic Astronomy Weekend with astronomer Mike Lazzari on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June.

Whether you're a keen stargazer or simply curious about the night sky, it's a great opportunity to learn more about the fascinating celestial events taking place this month, with solar observing and an astronomy talk planned throughout the weekend.

☀️ Our next Astronomy Weekend is here! ☀️

Join us on the 6th & 7th of June for a very special solar-themed astronomy experience at The White Hart.

This dedicated weekend will focus entirely on THE SUN, running from 1pm–6pm on both days.

Mike will be hosting the event in a hands-on workshop style, giving guests the opportunity to use two specialist telescopes, eclipse glasses, and binoculars — all included as part of the experience. We’ll also be transforming the snug with themed decorations and extras to make the event even more immersive.

As always, children are very welcome, and we’re dog friendly too, so no one has to miss out! 🐾

Why not make a day of it? Enjoy lunch, tea, or dinner in the pub on Saturday, and our traditional Sunday lunch will also be available on Sunday.

If you know anyone who may be interested, please do share this event with them.

As this event is based around observing the Sun, it will be weather dependent. If conditions are unsuitable, the event will move to the following weekend (13th & 14th June). We will confirm this at least one week in advance.

For everyone’s safety, Mike will provide operating instructions ahead of the event, which will be sent via email when booking.
