Hi, it’s Em, returning from yet another Instagram absence👋🫣🤣

Life has been its usual level of wonderfully chaotic and somewhere between running the cabins, working our day jobs, being parents and just generally trying to keep up with life, Instagram has once again taken a backseat🫣

Also... can we talk about Instagram these days?! Keeping up with the trends, reels, algorithms and whatever else we’re supposed to be doing genuinely makes me feel about 100 years old. It feels like trying to crack some impossible secret code... and I’m not sure I’ll ever find the answer to it🤣

The truth is, our life is anything but ‘Instagram’. It’s much more ‘reality’ - muddy boots, endless jobs, animals (mainly our wild cockapoo, Ruby🐶) escaping at the worst possible moments, laundry mountains, and plenty of chaos in between😂 And honestly? I think that’s probably the version I’d rather share!

It’s officially the summer holidays for me now so I’m hoping to pop on here more often. Don’t expect perfectly curated feeds or trending audios though... it’ll just be our simple, unfiltered little life🤪

There’s also a few new arrivals I need to introduce you all to! To mention a few: Rod, Stewart and Rosa’s gorgeous new pony, Dolly!🐴

Thanks for sticking with us, even when we vanish for months at a time on more than one occasion🤣 I’m looking forward to sharing more of our wonderfully imperfect world with you all over the summer❤️

2025, what a year 🫶✨

We won’t sugar-coat it – it’s been a hard one personally, but Baywood Cabins has absolutely flourished. Most days it feels like we’re spinning way too many plates… both working busy jobs, running the cabins, juggling our own hobbies, and raising our gorgeous toddler Rosa💕 But then we read your reviews and are reminded that it’s all completely worth it.

The Mallard had its best year to date 🦆 and The Bothy smashed its first full year – something we’re incredibly proud of.

None of this happens without our amazing support network. Huge thanks to Ruth, our fabulous cleaner, and Zoe & Jess who step in when Ruth is on well-earned holidays. To Em’s mum, now affectionately known as Mrs Wishy Washy, for washing and ironing more laundry than we care to admit 😅 And to Em’s dad, our onsite handyman and resident log stacker. Plus all the friends and family who cheer us on from afar – we feel very lucky.

Most of all, thank you to every single guest who stayed with us this year, and to everyone who’s liked, commented, shared or recommended us – it honestly means the world 🤍

We can’t wait to see what 2026 holds for our little business and are so excited to keep improving, developing and dreaming big ✨🏡
