The Boatside Inn is a welcoming and attractive Inn only 2 miles from the historic market town of Hexham. It is easy to find just off the trunk road A69 and there is plenty of parking. The menus are interesting and varied, freshly prepared using the best of local produce wherever possible. Our bar offers a wide range of beers, including speciality local ales, and an extensive selection of of wines,

spirits, hot and cold drinks. Meals are served in the restaurant or bar with its log fire, or for sunny summer days in our alfresco beer garden. We also have a function room which can be booked for up to 30 people. We have two semi-detached stone built holiday cottages, awarded 4 star sliver by Visit Britain's Quality in Tourism scheme and three 4 star B&B ensuite bedrooms. We also welcome walkers, cyclists and families which we have also been awarded by Visit Britain. Our B&B rooms are all on ground level allowing disabled access.

Our Head Chef has been out around Warden foraging for wild elderflower, ready to create a delicious hand-made elderflower cordial for you to enjoy.

We're incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the beautiful Northumberland countryside, with an abundance of wild flowers and plants right on our doorstep. Foraging fresh elderflower right outside The Boatside makes this cordial even more special.

Whether you enjoy it as a refreshing cordial on its own, or mixed into your favourite drink, be sure to ask at the bar and give it a try when it arrives!

Asparagus is still in season, and no better time, or place to eat it than The Boatside Inn, as soon as possible!! It features on a few dishes, such as the Moroccan Lamb Rump, BBQ Glaze Salmon Fillet, or as its own dish, with Garlic Hummus and Rocket Pesto.

How did we made last week’s Hay-Smoked Hispi Cabbage Roast? We smoked the hay, of course!

By infusing the Hispi Cabbage with the Hay smoke, it added a nice smokey background flavour, but nothing too intense.

This week instead we have a beautiful Cauliflower Steak Roast, a Roasted Belly Pork and a Salmon and Saffron Risotto, as well as our usual Beef and Chicken.
