A little weekend project at Derri Bach. 🌿

This started after I kept finding thirsty bees in the garden. I wanted to create a damp little spot near the pollen-rich plants, where insects could stop for a drink. 🐝 🌺

Then, while watering the pots one day, I had a little bird waiting for its turn at the water… so I thought this might be a worthwhile addition.

A few plants, a little bubbling water and an unexpected hummingbird hawk-moth visitor later… and our new wildlife watering hole is ready. 🦋💧

Another little corner for nature to enjoy. 🤍

A little look at what’s been keeping me busy at Derri Bach 🤍

Originally a mezzanine balcony, the floor has been extended across the void to create a spacious bedroom that fills with beautiful evening light.

Soft oak beams and a floor-to-ceiling glazed wall maintain the sense of openness, while a comfortable sofa, handmade Harrison Spinks mattress and crisp white linens make it a wonderful space to settle in.

As with bedroom one, it has the privacy of its own en-suite bathroom. Rinse away a sandy day in the rainfall shower or have a relaxing sunset soak in the bath. 🌅🌿

They recently spent the day at Derri Bach creating the most beautiful photos and videos. The amount of care, time and attention that went into capturing the cottage was incredible, and we had such a lovely day together.

After a day exploring Anglesey, return to a peaceful and comfortable space where you can truly unwind. 🌿

Both bedrooms have their own en-suite, offering privacy and beautiful views towards Parys Mountain, with the evening sun casting a golden glow through the rooms.

One of those little moments that quickly becomes part of your stay. 🌅

One of the things I love most about Derri Bach is its setting 🌿

Tucked away in a peaceful corner of Anglesey, with rolling countryside, quiet country lanes, and little glimpses of the twinkling sea.

It’s one of those rare places where you don’t have to choose between countryside and coast. 🌿 🌊

The plan was to spend the weekend getting Derri Bach ready for our first guests… 🌿

Nature had other ideas. I’ve been completely distracted by a wagtail enjoying a bath, a curious red squirrel inspecting the new planter, bees and hoverflies buzzing amongst the flowers, and even a cheeky woodpecker who’d somehow outsmarted the bird feeder. 🐦🐿️

I’d say our first guests have already made themselves at home. 💚🌿

We couldn’t resist the scent of the freshly baled hay and the golden evening light, so we took a little sunset stroll along the lane. 🌾☀️

The gentle hum of insects, birds settling down for the evening, and nothing but the peaceful sounds of the countryside… 🌿

…until one very vocal ewe loudly baa-ed to keep her lamb in check! 🫣🐑

Over the past year, I’ve been carefully creating Derri Bach – Little Oak Barn, and I’m so excited to finally share a glimpse with you.

If you’ve stayed at Tŷ Coets, you’ll know how much I love creating peaceful places to unwind. Derri Bach offers that same feeling, but in a different corner of Anglesey—surrounded by open countryside, with far-reaching views and the coast just minutes away.

It’s almost ready to welcome its first guests, and I’d love to have you along for the journey.
