Meet Ranjitkumar Sukumaran, our new Executive Head Chef at Seekers Restaurant & Bar, and as it happens to be International Chefs Day, there couldn’t be a better time to introduce him. 👨‍🍳

Before we opened last month, we thought about the things that make a stay properly comfortable: good pillows, soft robes, thoughtful details, somewhere to put absolutely everything etc.

And then, somewhere between the final pillow count, considered lighting and the last robe being hung, someone said, “What this place really needs is a flamingo.”

And we couldn't have agreed more🦩🙃

In 1979, photographer Anton Corbijn photographed Joy Division inside Lancaster Gate Underground station. The image became one of the band’s most recognisable: the group walking away down the platform, while Ian Curtis turns back towards the camera.

Corbijn had only recently moved to London and was living nearby at the time. One photograph, one glance back and a little piece of music history made just down the road.

Not a bad neighbour to have in the archives.
