This September, we’re celebrating 15 incredible years of Sandman Signature Newcastle Hotel and Shark Club Newcastle! 🥂

Since opening our doors opposite St James’ Park in 2011, it’s been quite the journey…

🍺 More than 1.5 MILLION pints poured
👥 120 brilliant people currently make up our team
❤️ 10 team members have been with us since the very beginning

We’ve welcomed famous faces, celebrated unforgettable match days, hosted two marriage proposals, raised money for Teenage Cancer Trust, picked up some fantastic awards and made more memories than we could ever count.

But our proudest achievement is the community that’s grown around us — our incredible team, loyal regulars and every guest who has walked through our doors over the past 15 years.

To everyone who has been part of our story since 2011: thank you. 💙

Team Sandman & Shark Club are taking to the Tyne! 🚣

We’re excited to be taking part in the NE1 Newcastle Dragon Boat Race 2026, joining teams from across the city for an action-packed day of racing on Newcastle’s iconic Quayside.

But it’s about much more than crossing the finish line - this year’s race is raising vital funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, supporting its ambition to establish the new Sir Bobby Robson Institute here in the North East and help bring more clinical trials and new cancer treatments to the region.
