A great night spent at Lancaster Grand Theatre listening to Lancaster born comedian Jon Richardson recalling stories from his youth.
Everyone got a copy of his new book, and he patiently stayed on to sign everyone’s copy.
Great night - looking forward to reading! 😊

Welcome to the half term holidays!

I suspect that one of the reasons that our recent guests chose Vine Cottage for their four-generational family holiday was that we have a downstairs bedroom with an adjacent large shower room for the most senior member of the family.
However, celebrating her 92nd birthday during their stay, Great Grandma Irene had other ideas! She spritely decided that she wanted an upstairs bedroom, and proved that she could manage the stairs very ably. Go girl!

With the lovely September sun upon us, Evie and I enjoyed a day out in Lytham today, with an obligatory ‘ladies that lunch’ treat!

Just 40 minutes away from Vine Cottage, it really is a lovely day out (especially when the sun is shining!). There’s an array of cafes, bars and restaurants to tempt the palette, a good mix of boutique style shops, and plenty of benches to just sit and relax.
Once you’ve explored the town centre, you can wonder along Lytham Green looking out on the Ribble Estuary towards Southport and North Wales, and maybe treat yourself to an ice cream!

Despite being so close, Evie and I both agreed that it’s not somewhere we visit often enough - so we have pledged to go back soon! There’s lots more to do in Lytham, for instance Lytham Hall, but that will be a trip out another day!

When you book Vine Cottage, no panic, you get the whole house!! (Please watch with the sound on!)

We live next door, but we will leave you be! I won’t be bringing my washing up round or sneaking a shower!!
I discreetly pop across to check the hot tub each morning, but that’s all!

Recently a group of lovely ladies from Liverpool celebrating 60th birthdays were worried about disturbing us as they’d brought a karaoke machine - go for it! There’s enough space between us!
