The part of running a holiday house you do not usually see… 🍂🧹

Autumn leaves swept — with a little help from Alice 🤎 — fresh beds made, logs brought in and the house checked from top to bottom before another group arrives. 🏡✨

It might not be the most glamorous part of Coombe Rise, but it is one of the most important.

We want the house to feel properly ready from the moment somebody opens the door: warm, welcoming and easy to settle into. 🔥☕️

Although, judging by the number of leaves still falling, Alice may have volunteered for a never-ending job! 😂🍁

What is the little detail that instantly makes a holiday house feel special to you? 👇

Someday, this will be the bit you miss. 🥹🤎

The tiny hands collecting shells. 🐚
The squeal when a wave comes in too quickly. 🌊
Clothes that somehow end up completely soaked. 💦
Sandy shoes by the door and tired children falling asleep before the film has finished. 🎬💤

They probably will not remember whether the forecast was perfect. 🌦️

They will remember the sea, the freedom and having everyone together. 🤍

Maybe the best family holidays are not the polished ones. They are the ones that become part of the family story. ✨

Share this with someone who needs more days like these. 🫶
