Visiting Gordale? Welcome to our beautiful valley. Just a reminder to everyone - yes, that means YOU!
IF IT SAYS PRIVATE LAND, IT MEANS PRIVATE LAND - stay on the paths! Private land does NOT mean you can have a picnic, a group party, nor any form of cooking. And definitely no BBQ's or fires which severely damage the grass and soil below, as well as looking an eye-sore.
DO NOT BLOCK ANY GATEWAY - It has often been known that emergency ambulances need access as well as farm vehicles and other vehicles.
DO NOT BLOCK NARROW ROADS - Farm tractors pulling heavy machinery won't worry about scratching your car if you park in a very narrow spot - you might be on a day out but they have work to do.
DO NOT KNOCK OUR WALLS DOWN - it is NOT fun to do. Who do you expect to rebuild it?
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LITTER - if it won't fit in a bin, take it home, do not throw it on the ground, over a wall or hide it behind a rock - believe me it's not fun having to pick it all up after you, we are not the rubbish fairies!
And finally, IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE to go through closed farm gates into other fields for a picnic or game of football, and never leave any field gates open. Sheep and lambs have a tendency to escape onto the busy narrow roads.
Overall, RESPECT THE COUNTRYSIDE and enjoy it 🙂
