Planning a visit to Stockeld Park’s Christmas Adventure? Here’s how to make the most of your festive family day out! 🎄💫

🎟️ If you’ve got Gold Tickets, you’ll get:

✨ Winter Illuminations

With so much included, planning your day really helps! You can arrive from 10am, and you’ll need to choose time slots for both the pantomime and Santa’s Grotto.

✨ TOP TIP: Your grotto time slot is the time you enter the grotto, not necessarily the time you’ll see Santa! It can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour before you reach him, depending on queues. Make sure you leave enough time between your grotto and panto slots so you’re not rushing!

🍴 It’s a long festive day, so think ahead with food! We saved our late lunch for the Playhive at around 4pm, after most of the outdoor activities. It gave the kids time to warm up, reset and play before heading back out to enjoy the illuminations.

🧸 Playhive slot: 90 minutes
🧦 Socks needed!

✨ The Winter Illuminations switch on at dusk, usually around 4pm. The darker it gets, the better they look! 😍

🎄 MORE MUST-KNOW TIPS:

👶 Bring a pram or carrier. There’s a LOT of walking for little legs!

💙 Pack pyjamas for the journey home. They’ll be ready to crash after such a busy day!

🥨 Bring snacks, but you’ll also find plenty of food outlets serving quick, on-the-go options so you don’t need to spend ages sitting down.

🧣 Wrap up warm! You’ll be spending plenty of time outdoors, especially if you’re staying for the illuminations.

📸 Don’t rush the Enchanted Forest! There are so many lovely festive photo opportunities along the way.

✨ My biggest tip? Arrive early and make a full day of it! There’s so much included in the Christmas Adventure, and it’s such a magical day out for the whole family.

Our go to campsite at Christmas, for the last 6 years I think? Can’t keep track 😂 … but we LOVE Hawes Caravan and Motorhome Club

It has everything you need for the perfect Christmas getaway!

The site is immaculate and has beautiful scenery, it’s a short walk into Hawes village where there’s looooads of Christmassy pubs! They go all out at Christmas, with festive menus, cosy decor, fires lit, baileys hot chocolates and mulled w**e.

There’s also Wensleydale Creamery where you can have a CHEESE afternoon tea!! And sample and buy cheese for your Christmas cheese board.

There’s loads of walks on the door step too, and waterfalls to find! Definitely check out such a beautiful pub hiding a secret in the back garden 😂!

We always time our visit around the Santa parade which is great for the kids, but we’ve never actually took Luca 😂 we now go for one or two nights and it’s our little Xmas break. Although we should probably take him considering the POLAR EXPRESS Wensleydale is a short drive 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Ad | 🛏️ 5 top tips for transitioning your child from a cot to a toddler bed!

🔨 1. Let them help and get involved!
Luca absolutely loved helping Grandad and his dad dismantle his cot and put his new bed together.

☁️ 2. Invest in a decent mattress!
We’ve gone for the Hybrid Cot Mattress, which has Aerocoil® springs for comfort and support. It’s also a great option from birth as it has a firm side for babies and a softer side for toddlers!

🦖 3. Let them pick their own bedding!
Even if it ruins the bedroom aesthetic 😂

🧸 4. Spend time playing in their room before bedtime.
This helps them get used to their new bed and feel comfortable in their room.

🌙 5. Stick to their usual bedtime routine as much as possible!

We honestly expected loads more nightly wake-ups, but Luca has really surprised us! 🥹

Ad | 🎃 3 easy spooky pizza recipes for Halloween! 👻🍕

These spooky pizzas are SO easy to make and such a fun activity to do with your little ones this autumn!

All three were made using pizza dough, of course 😉 It’s so easy to work with and tastes restaurant-quality every single time! You can find it in the frozen aisle 👌

👻 My top tips:

🍕 DOUBLE UP on your pepperoni for the eyes, mouths and noses! Otherwise, it tends to disappear into the pizza as it bakes. Two stacked layers look SO much more effective!

🧀 Use thin strips of cheese for the mummy pizza bandages and make sure you leave little gaps between them.

🍕 Sprinkle flour on your chopping board and rolling pin to stop the dough from sticking.

❄️ Don’t forget to take your pizza dough out of the freezer in plenty of time! You can also leave it to defrost overnight in the fridge.

🎃 Most importantly, have funnnnn!
