THREE DAYS IN… and look at the progress!!! 🤯🚜

Archaeology officially COMPLETE and off-site ✔️ — and thankfully, no surprises or delays!!! 🙌

Beadoun Plant Hire has been absolutely flying. In just 3 days:
🚜 All FOUR cabin bases dug
🚜 Waste trenches excavated
🚜 Barn demolished
🚜 Access Road begun
🚜 Concrete being separated ready for crushing
🚜 All the beautiful old stone being carefully
preserved for its next life at Machair Croft 🪨

After all the months (and years!) of planning, paperwork and talking about it… suddenly it’s looking VERY real.

We are off to a flying start. 💨

And keep your eyes peeled… 👀 We’ve got a rather special announcement coming VERY soon… Perhaps it might have something to do with Cabin No. 2… 🧐

IT’S HAPPENING!!! 🚜😭

The diggers are here.
The barn is empty.
The fuel tanks are full.
The archaeologists have checked in.

Tomorrow, we break ground at Machair Croft.

After what feels like forever — years of planning, permissions, drawings, applications, funding, emails, phone calls and more than a few sleepless nights — we are FINALLY ready to go.

Tomorrow this patch of grass starts its transformation into the home of our first cabins. 🥹

It feels completely surreal seeing a digger sitting here tonight knowing that this time tomorrow, the work will actually have begun.

I genuinely cannot wait to take you all along for this next chapter — from the very first bucket of earth to welcoming our very first guests in 2027.

Here we go… 🚜🌿

🚨 15TH SEPTEMBER — THE HEBRIDES NEED YOUR VOICE 🚨

You have already done an incredible job supporting this campaign. You signed the petition. You submitted objections. You shared our posts and helped make sure our concerns could not be ignored.

Now we need your help again.

A critical decision from Argyll & Bute Council is imminent regarding the proposed MachairWind development.

The Council has an opportunity to take a position on this proposal — and a recommendation for REFUSAL would carry significant weight.

So, whether you live in the Hebrides, visit these islands, have family here, work here, or simply love and care about this extraordinary place, please take a few minutes to email the members of the Planning, Protective Services & Licensing Committee before 15th September.

Ask them to:

• Read Iona Community Council’s objection to MachairWind.
• Listen to the communities who will live with the consequences of this development.
• Recognise the overwhelming strength of local opposition — including 92% of respondents on Iona.
• Recommend REFUSAL of the MachairWind proposal.

This matters. Argyll & Bute’s councillors are elected to represent their communities, and right now we need them to hear — loudly and clearly — what those communities are saying.
