Sometimes, supporting local businesses really does make all the difference! ❤️👏

After a complete nightmare with Garolla, who measured our garage door incorrectly and left us with a door that simply wasn’t right, we were left with a real headache trying to get everything sorted.

But then Dom from That Garage Door Company in Derby stepped in! Dom is actually one of our subscribers and, after seeing what had happened, he reached out and offered to help us sort the problem.

And he did exactly that! He came to our rescue, fitted our new garage door and did a fantastic job. We honestly couldn’t be happier with the result, and we’re so grateful that he took the time to reach out and help us out.

It’s a brilliant reminder that there are some amazing local, family-run businesses out there who genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. ❤️

Lapland prep is slowly taking over our lives and I’m so happy about it❄️🇫🇮

As you’ve probably seen, Oli has been busy getting all the lights sorted on the car, but there’s still plenty left on our list before we head off on this crazy adventure!

With temperatures potentially dropping to -20°C and beyond, we need to make sure the Land Rover is ready for those extreme conditions. We’re checking the antifreeze protection in the coolant, getting the right winter screen wash, checking the battery, tyres and wipers, and we’re even changing the engine oil before we go… because, of course, it’s a Land Rover! 😂🙈

We’ve also sorted winter tyres for the caravan for travelling through Holland and Germany, and then, once we reach Helsinki, we’ve arranged to have all eight tyres across the car and caravan changed to studded winter tyres for the colder conditions further north. Definitely not your average caravan trip!

We’ve got the caravan booked in with Sam Code 11 Caravans & Motorhomes in a couple of weeks for a full service before we go as we thought getting it all checked before we go would be a good idea!

We still haven’t booked our campsites, but we know exactly where we want to stay. A lot of the places we’re looking at don’t open their winter bookings until November, so that’s another job for next month.

We’ve also got our excursions to finalise, with some pretty incredible experiences planned. 🦌🐕‍🦺

I honestly can’t believe this is actually happening. We’re taking our caravan all the way to Lapland to make some of the most magical memories with the kids, and the excitement is really starting to kick in now!

We’ve got just over a month until we hitch up the caravan and head off on our biggest adventure yet… 🚐❄️

What's the worst weather you've ever caravanned in?

The easiest one-tray sausage bake… with a little secret ingredient that makes it SO delicious! 🤤

If you’re after a quick, easy and tasty family dinner with minimal washing up, you need to try this one!

Here’s how we made it:

🥔 Par-boil some baby potatoes, pop them in a roasting tray and lightly crush them.
🍅 Add cherry tomatoes, chipolata sausages, broccoli florets and a couple of chopped red onions.
🫒 Drizzle with olive oil and season with garlic granules, dried thyme, salt and pepper.
🔥 Pop in the oven for around 20–25 minutes.

Now for the secret ingredient!

🫛 Cook your peas, then mix them with 3 generous tablespoons of sun-dried tomato pesto.

Take your traybake out of the oven, stir through that delicious pesto and pea mixture, then pop it back in for another 10–15 minutes, until everything is cooked through and beautifully roasted.

And voilà! 😍 A colourful, flavour-packed, nutritious family dinner with hardly any effort and just one tray to wash up!

Honestly, the pesto takes this to another level!

Caravan nights under the stars… 🌙⭐️

The lights are on, the kettle’s ready (for oli), my w**es poured, the kids are tucked up, and there’s nowhere else we’d rather be. These are the moments that remind us why we love caravanning so much. It’s not always about the big adventures or the places you visit, but the simple evenings, the cosy set-ups and the memories you make along the way. 🏕️✨

Who’s off caravanning this weekend, and who’s having second thoughts after seeing the weather forecast?! 🌬️😂

We’re heading off on Saturday and keeping everything crossed that the worst of the storm and high winds have passed by then! We’ve got our fingers crossed for a calmer journey, but it’s definitely got us wondering what everyone else is planning!
