An extraordinary episode today here at the Farm. A lady who had enjoyed a meal in our restaurant ,encountered some pigs arriving back from the abbatoir
In a scene that had been repeated for hundreds of years, up and down the country infront of all high street butchers shops The delivery driver carries the carcasses on his shoulder ,from his chiller lorry to our chillers for further processing

The Lady started filming the operation and kept shouting "This should never happen ! " and "It is disgusting and illegal!" and she was going to ....."Call the F@~ Police!"

Heres the kicker....... She had just whoofed down and enjoyed a large plate of HOME COOKED HAM ,EGG and CHIPS !!!

Am I missing something ?

This morning we are busy Raking ( Rowing up ) the Lucerne silage we cut yesterday ready for baleing . It got a bit wet with an unexpected storm yesterday but we are letting it HezJing ( pronounced Hessel , meaning drying in the sunshine) Lucerne is a wonder crop that makes its own Fertiliser, so we are not reliant on product coming through the Strait of Hormus , and we also don't have to pay Rachel Reeve's new Fertiliser tax coming next year !

Yesterday we waved goodbye to one of our longest serving members of the shop staff.
Hannah is off to the states to work in a summer sports camp and then do some travelling . Thanks Hannah for all your dedicated work and fun you bought to the Farm over the years
Hannah will be greatly missed by all her co workers, but , be rest assured, knowing Hannah's charm, determination and problem solving skills, she will have the Strait of Hormuz opened within 24 hrs of landing at JFK !

Here we are again...... Early morning , and it Cattle turn out day! Cows having been inside for five months and Calves seeing grass for the first time ever ! In my opinion ,there is no better day in the Farming calender

Just to let you know we will be hosting a special musical event for this Saturday! Dave Taylor who performs as a Seasick Steve tribute act will be playing from 5pm to 7pm so if you fancy some blues to cheer you up, why not pop along to the farm and listen to Seasick's set while enjoying one of our homemade/cooked pizzas!!
