Another summer in Athens, and Il Giardino Segreto is open again.
Inside the Atrium of Alexander’s Lounge at Hotel Grande Bretagne, that hidden garden under the olive trees and cypress feels like a different city.
This year Executive Chef Asterios Koustoudis Asterios Koustoudis has dedicated the whole menu to the tomato and not just as a side note. 🍅
We went with friends and colleagues to taste it, and honestly we loved it!
Rare heirloom tomatoes grown naturally on Mount Pateras, a slow-cooked sauce they open tableside in glass jars, carpaccio, fresh pasta finished with San Michali cheese, pizza with Aegina pistachio pesto, and yes, fiore di latte ice cream with spoon sweet tomato.
No rush, just sunset, open kitchen, good company and at the end, a unique gift inspired by Greek tradition, signed by Maria Economides Ceramics This is what slow summer in Athens tastes like…
Save this for your next night out.
Would you try the tomato dessert?
