Bettystown Tidy Towns Local group set up to help keep Bettystown clean. We meet every Saturday 9-11am in Bettystown Square. All welcome. Equipment provided.

Bettystown Tidy Towns (BTT) is a group of local volunteers who want to keep the village looking fantastic. Established in 2017, we aim to enhance the village for the benefit of the community and visitors to the village. We make an effort to maintain the village and its approach roads by conducting litter picks, painting walls, adding colour by installing flower beds and planting flowers and organising events for the community. Bettystown has a wealth of local resources, miles of beach and dunes, golf and pitch & putt courses, tennis club, restaurants, bars, cafes, beauticians and shops. To retain these businesses and attract more we need to maintain the village and give local residents a sense of pride in their village. As a seaside resort in a very historical area we attract a significant number of visitors to our village and the Tidy Towns group want to enhance the look of the village for these visitors and local residents.

Local resident Karen Spellman and her colleagues from AXA put their work volunteering day to great use. They spent the day litter picking Bettystown Beach. Look at those blue skies and clean sand - what a great way to spend a day out of the office. Thank you to AXA!

If your company has a work volunteering programme and you want to spend it on the beach - get in touch. Bettystown Tidy Towns can support your clean up day.

Did you know we have a Bike Repair Station in Bettystown! 🚲

Installed as part of our Climate Action project to support cycling to school, work and for recreation.

The station is free to use, and includes a bike stand, a pump for tyres, and other tools which you can use to carry out on-the-go repairs and maintenance. The station is conveniently located outside Bettystown Library.

A big cheer for the Beaver Scouts from our local Beaver Colony who came out to clean the beach today.

They collected three big bags of rubbish and learned how important it was to keep our environment clean for us all to enjoy.

There was great community spirit showing the power of volunteering and creating connections yesterday at the Clean Coasts Big Beach Clean on Bettystown Beach.

East Meath Women’s Shed members brightened our day with their positive attitudes and hot pink hi-vis.

Meath Volunteer Centre were out in force cleaning the beach and especially removing burned waste from the dunes.

Thank you to all the members of the community who came out to clean the beach. Thanks to Meath Volunteer Centre there were sweet treats galore for all the hard working volunteers at coffee break.

If you would like to join us, Bettystown Tidy Towns are out around the village every Saturday 9-11 am.
