We would like to share our condolences to Eileen Martina and all of Gerry’s family on his passing yesterday, may he rest in eternal peace 🙏🙏

The death has occurred of;

Gallagher James Gerard (Gerry)

30th May 2026 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved partner of Eileen. Cherished Daddy of Anne, Gerard and Kieran and proud Granda of Ryan and his wife Jess and Great Granda to Cadhla and Éabha.

Beloved son of James and Nellie Gallagher and loving brother of Patsy, John, Ann and the late Bee and Bernie. Gerry will be lovingly remembered by Eileen's children and their families and his former wife Sheila.

He will be fondly remembered by his close circle of friends in Derry and Gweedore. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Gerry will repose at his home 30 Virginia Court, Waterside Derry from 2pm on Sunday 31st May. Funeral from there on Tuesday 2nd June at 10.20am to the church of the Immaculate Conception, Trench Rd, for Requiem mass at 11.00 am.

Interment immediately afterwards in the City cemetery, Lone Moor Road Derry.

That time of year again.

Up to 100 people are expected to climb Errigal this Sunday in memory of a beloved husband and father who lost his life six months ago.

Carl Henderson from Co. Down suffered a cardiac arrest while hiking the mountain in April.

This Sunday, everyone is welcome to 'Climb for Carl' as his family and friends fundraise for an eco-powered, weather-resistant defibrillator (AED) on Errigal.

Our deepest condolences to Caroline and the children and all the extended family RIP Carl 🙏🙏

Henderson (Moira), April 26, 2025, suddenly on Mount Errigal, Dunlewey, Gweedore, County Donegal.

Carl, (Fern Valley Close), beloved husband of Caroline and an incredible father to Aibhilín, Rían, and Caoimhe, and loving son-in-law of Patrick Ryan (Darlington). Brother-in-law to Michael, Kathleen, Charlene, and Patsy, and a wonderful uncle to Dominic, Joseph, Katie, Zonya, Hannah, Cillian and his great nieces and nephews and cousins. He will always be deeply loved and remembered.

Now reunited with his late mother and father, Geoffrey and Angela Henderson, his late mother-in-law, Maeve Ryan, and his late niece-in-law, Aisling, who will always remain in our hearts.

His strength and care will continue to shape Caroline and their children, as they hold his memory close in the years to come.

As many of you know, our beloved parish chapel in Gweedore Doirí Beaga was tragically destroyed by fire — a place where we celebrated life’s most important moments, a symbol of faith, family, and hope for generations.💔

Now, it’s time to give back to the place that gave us so much.
We are hosting a Fundraiser and Volunteer night to support the rebuilding of our chapel and to renew the spirit that holds our parish together.
