Camogie news from Brussels! Former Dublin and Ballyboden St. Enda’s player Irene Kirwan has been living in Belgium for several years with her wife, Maude, and their two young children, Mila and Liam.

Recently, Mila and Liam Kirwan Florent took part in their first Cúl Camp in Brussels! There was a strong Dublin connection, with former Whitehall Colmcille player Eilise O’Grady on hand to teach the young players the skills of the game.

Eilise herself has also enjoyed a memorable season with Brussels Craobh Rua, scoring the winning goal to secure the European Championship title. A driving force behind the team’s success this season, she was certainly a wonderful person for Mila and Liam to learn from!

The Annual FODHC Celebration Night takes place on Friday Nov 20th!

It’s a great opportunity for the Dublin Hurling and Camogie community to come together. The 3 course meal and presentation will cost €45 per person. A club/school may take a table of 8 or 10. The 3rd Annual Fingal League Hurling and Camogie Development Finals will go ahead next Monday 19th October in Parnell Park. This Development League was set up in 2024 with just 12 schools, with 23 schools taking part in in 2026!

Good luck to all taking part!

10am: St. Davids v Hunstown and Scoil an Duinnínigh v Greenlanes
11am: St. Marys, Ashbourne v Scoil Mhuire Howth and Greenlanes v GS Baile Bhrigín
12pm: River Valley CNS v Scoil Ghráinne and St. Canices v Belmaine ETNS.

Congratulations to St. Vincents having made history by winning their 5th Senior County Camogie Championship title in a row when they defeated St. Judes in a packed Parnell Park.

Managed by FODHC Scholarship recipient Graham Dillon, St. Vincent’s drew on their experience to secure a 3-14 to 0-10 victory, with joint captains Aine Woods and Danielle Smith lifting the Maura Brady Cup!

FODHC are delighted to announce that Clanna Gael Fontenoy are the 2026 recipients of the Adult Club of the Year Award, recognising their outstanding contribution to the promotion of hurling and camogie.

Founded in 1887, the club has a rich history, with many former players going on to represent Áth Cliath. FODHC look forward to welcoming representatives from the club to the awards ceremony on November 20th. Keep watching this space as we announce more FODHC Award winners over the coming weeks!

HOW WERE YOU INTRODUCED TO HURLING AND BY WHOM? Dillon Constantine from Whitehall Colmcille, in Primary School.

DID YOU ALWAYS PLAY IN GOALS? I have always played in goal since I started playing hurling at 9 years old. I played outfield.
during primary school, but have always played in goal with Whitehall.

WHO MOULDED YOU AS A PLAYER?: As a goalkeeper, the likes of Cormac Ryan and Brian Fox were big influences and helped me a lot during my younger years with the team. Coaches such as Shay Curtis I’d also mention, having coached my team from under 10s all the way up, and is still involved with the Senior team.

WHO IS THE JOKER ON THE SENIOR CLUB TEAM? Luke McCarthy.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE INTERCOUNTY HURLER? Nicky Quaid.

Comhghairdeas to Humphrey Kelleher,a founding member of FODH (later FODHC) and his fellow mentors on winning the PTSB Dublin Camogie Intermediate 1 Championship title for Naomh Mearnóg. Sophie Brennan of the same club was the PTSB Player of the match. They defeated Naomh Bríd on the scoreline of 2-14 to 0-15 in Abbottstown at the weekend.

The Annual Mass for deceased members of Dublin GAA will take place on Tuesday 10th November in Parnell Park. Always a lovely evening when families and loved ones gather together to remember their loved ones who have passed away during the year. Time will be confirmed later, but put it in your diary now.
