The Cinque Terre were said to be born from the displacement of the inhabitants - devoted for a long time to agriculture and herding from the villages of the hinterland to the sanctuaries that are located halfway up the coast towards the coastal bays and then the sea. As strong and proud peasants and brave sailors, they painted their house, their home in a particular color, stronger, softer, green, yellow, purple - the colors of sunset or sunrise - in order to recognize it on the departure or arrival day from long distance.

Da questo piccolo altopiano che accoglie Soviore, il santuario con l’icona mariana più antica, situato a 465 metri s.l.m., si gode uno dei panorami più vasti di tutta la zona con la vallata di Levanto verso destra e il territorio di Monterosso e Vernazza a sinistra. Il piazzale dove arriverete con la vostra auto accoglie la foresteria e in fondo la chiesa, semplice ma ricca di storia, meta da secoli di un culto di venerazione senza pari da parte di pellegrini di ogni provenienza. Oltre il cancello che adduce allo stabilimento ecclesiale, un terrapieno nasconde l’inizio del sentiero che conduce al centro storico di Monterosso al mare e con un’ora di cammino si raggiunge la prima perla di questo territorio magico e forte strappato dal mare con l’opera ardua dell’uomo – le Cinque Terre.
From this small up-land that welcomes Soviore, the sanctuary with the oldest Marian icon, located at 465 meters above sea level, you can enjoy one of the widest panoramas in the whole area with the Levanto valley on the right and the territory of Monterosso and Vernazza on left. La nostra piccola casa con vista sul mare di Monterosso sarà pronta nuovamente per accogliervi verso la seconda metà di febbraio , come tutti gli anni. Il mare oggi aveva dei colori magnifici nonostante il meteo poco favorevole. Vale comunque la pena di osservarlo dalla nostra posizione
