朝晩はまだ肌寒い日が続き、山あいの空気は澄んでいます。白濁の湯と若葉のあいだに、静かな時間が流れます。

森ではエゾハルゼミが鳴き始めています。
八幡平の春の終わりです。

峡雲荘のまわりも、すっかり新緑に包まれました。
冬の間あれだけ積もっていた雪も、今は遠くの山の頂にわずかに残るだけ。森のどこかではエゾハルゼミが鳴いています。

The mountains around Kyounso are now full of fresh green.
The deep winter snow is gone, with only a little left on the distant peaks. Somewhere in the forest, early summer cicadas are singing.

露天風呂から見える山桜が、ここ数日で咲きました。
周辺のブナの木々にも、新芽が芽吹いています。
麓より少し遅れて、八幡平にも春がきました。

The mountain cherry by the open-air bath has bloomed in the past few days.
The beech trees around us are budding too.
Spring has reached Hachimantai, a little later than the foot of the mountains.

雪がほぼ溶け、八幡平にも春が来ております。
宿の近くにある小さな水芭蕉の群生地で、1週間ほど前から花が咲きはじめています。
残雪はまだ山の影に残っていて、朝晩はまだ冷え込みます。
上着などをお持ちになってお越しください。

Snow has nearly melted at Hachimantai, and spring has arrived.
A small colony of skunk cabbage near the ryokan started blooming about a week ago.
Snow still lingers in the shadows of the mountain, and mornings remain cold.
But spring is here — quietly, at ground level.
