We’ve installed new signs to make the entrance and parking area easier to find. This should make things much clearer now.

An antler chair by Rokumei Dokuro.
Antlers are a symbol of death and rebirth.
To be born, to die, and to be born again.
This is a ritual to become a child once more.
Facing the chair is a shelf of good fortune.
May good fortune dwell in your new life.

UNTEN INN is written in kanji as 運天院.
The name comes from a family name rooted in the Unten area of Nakijin.
I’ve always felt that it has a very lucky sound to it.
So at the entrance of UNTEN INN, I gathered my own selection of lucky items.
I hope this place will go viral as a “dark lucky spot” (a bit of chuunibyou, maybe).

UNTEN INN

When you stay at UNTEN INN,
you enter into a small contract.

It might be with a god.
It might be with yourself.

Or perhaps
with the Ryukyu long-furred rats
that live quietly in this inn.
