The River Pride — a mother’s instinct.

Captured by our guide Salaash Jaymo this beautiful moment shows a River Pride female carrying her cub to a new hiding place.

The mothers move their babies every few days to keep them safe from predators. An old den can carry the smell of milk and blood — scents that can attract predators and put vulnerable cubs at risk.

So they keep moving. A new den, a new hiding place, another chance to keep the next generation safe.

Nature’s instinct: protect the next generation at all costs. 🐾
