The Fallacy of Truth
Truth wears many faces,
and speaks with many tongues;
what one calls truth
another may call a lie.
To some, Truth is a mountain—
solid, ancient, unmoved.
To others, a cloud—
shifting with the winds of the mind.
Truth is a silent thunder,
a beautiful contradiction:
heard by all,
yet understood differently.
It is a mirror—
each mind sees its own reflection.
It is a river—
flowing through different hearts,
gathering the colours of every shore.
Truth may wear the mask of illusion,
while illusion may borrow
the voice of truth.
Oh, Truth,
how many have praised you,
fought for you,
and fallen beneath your name!
We argue over your shadow,
while you stand beyond the argument.
For perception may bend you,
belief may deny you,
and opinion may bury you—
but Truth does not die.
Strip away the masks.
Silence the voices.
Break the mirrors.
When every version has fallen,
when every certainty turns to dust,
when the last tongue is silent—
Truth will still be standing.
Not because we believe it,
but because it is.
Truth.
