POKHARA, NEPAL – The Rotary Club of Solukhumbu successfully concluded its participation in the 18th Rotary District Conference, held from April 17–19, 2026, at the Pokhara Event Center. The event, themed "Unite for Good," brought together over 1,000 delegates to celebrate service and leadership within Rotary District 3292.

Leading the Solukhumbu delegation was Club President Karma Sherpa, who actively engaged with fellow Rotarians to share the unique challenges and successes of serving "above the clouds" in the Everest region. During the energetic three-day gathering, President Sherpa met with numerous local and international partners to discuss the club's ongoing initiatives, including environmental sustainability and community development projects essential to the high-altitude region.

"It was a privilege to share the story of Solukhumbu with our Rotary family in Pokhara," said President Karma Sherpa. "Meeting so many dedicated fellows allowed us to exchange ideas on how to better support our mountain communities, particularly through our work in waste management and education."

A significant highlight of the conference was the election of Rtn. Amit Giri as the District Governor for the 2028-29 Rotary Year. The Rotary Club of Solukhumbu extends its warmest congratulations to DGE Amit Giri and looks forward to his visionary leadership.
