Join Art Therapists Renée Barker and Kim Walker for A restorative weekend, focusing on exploring the wisdom of our inner voice through a variety of expressive arts.

Renée Barker is a professionally registered creative arts therapist from Tāmaki Makaurau. Renée has a wide therapeutic background. She specialises in working with female clients and has a special interest in working with anxiety-related issue.

Kim Walker has worked in the arts, education and creative therapies for over 40 years. She has clinical experience as an arts therapist in private practice and facilitating arts therapy groups. Kim is a practising artist and regularly explores new methods of making and creating, with a particular interest in how self expression can promote well-being.

"Expressive approaches gently encourage us to externalise emotions, notice shifts, improve self-awareness, and work through difficult experiences. You don’t need to know any creative techniques or have any special artistic skills, just be your curious selves!

Our invitation is to pause, replenish and rejuvenate through both guided and self-directed reflection in community within a small group of other women."

Our amazing annual Piha Labour Day Market at Barnett Hall North Piha is on Monday 26th October 2026 9.30am - 2pm ... just a short 850m walk from Te Wāhi Ora!

Why not book in for the long weekend?
Come to a CHECK IN session on the 24th or 25th of October (or both!) and stay until Monday for market day. Make a weekend of it!

There is live music at the Piha RSA on Sunday evening.
Rebecca Rose has an exhibition at Piha's West Coast Gallery.
And Piha Beach is always stunning!

A recent guest says Daisy Room is her favourite room:

A very fitting subject!... looking out past our retro ART CARAVAN over to Sunflower Chalet in our back garden. The ART CARAVAN is a space where women can go to be creative. The caravan itself was purchased by a number of our supporters getting behind the idea and donating towards it 🙏🏼 ❤️ Our Art Caravan has a womnderful supply of art materials for quests to use, kindly donate by 'Draw Art Supplies'.
