For the first time in a long while, I stopped and truly appreciated the rain. The sky turned a deep orange, the air felt calm, and everything looked so peaceful.

Remaining Courageous in Uncertainty

Uncertainty has a way of unsettling the heart. When the path ahead is unclear, fear often fills the space where clarity is missing. You may hesitate to move forward, worried about making the wrong decision or stepping into the unknown.

Scripture speaks directly into moments like this. In Joshua 1:9, God commands Joshua to be strong and courageous. The reason for courage is not Joshua’s ability. It is God’s presence. “The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Courage flows from remaining aware of who walks with you.

Abiding in uncertainty means staying close to God instead of retreating into fear. It means remembering that you are not navigating the unknown alone. When you remain conscious of God’s presence, uncertainty loses some of its power.

Courage does not mean the absence of questions. It means continuing forward while staying connected. Abiding keeps your heart anchored when circumstances feel unstable. You move not because everything is clear, but because you trust the One who is guiding you.

Many people wait for certainty before taking steps of faith. But God often calls you to remain with Him in the middle of ambiguity. His promise is not that you will always understand. His promise is that He will be with you.

If you feel unsure about what lies ahead, pause and remember this truth. God’s presence travels with you. You do not step into uncertainty alone.

Abiding means staying aware of God’s nearness even when the future feels unclear.

Prayer:

Lord, help me remain close to You when the future feels uncertain. Give me courage that comes from trusting Your presence rather than relying on my understanding. Walk with me in every step I take.
