In line with the PNP FOCUSED AGENDA and under the leadership of PBGEN ROGELIO Z RAYMUNDO, JR, Director, PNP-EOD/K9 Group, personnel of RECU 4A, PECU RIZAL under the supervision of PMAJ VERNON G JOHN LLOVIDO, OIC of RECU 4A and led by PCPT JEYAMA P CARIAZO as Team Leader, successfully conducted a Render Safe Procedure (RSP) following the discovery of an unexploded ordnance (UXO) at Mt. Purro, Balonan, Brgy. Calawis, Antipolo City, Rizal on May 22, 2026.
In coordination with CDRRMO personnel, the responding team successfully recovered one (1) piece Bomb GP 2000 lbs discovered during a ground-based scanning operation using a metal detector at the Wawa Pumped Storage Hydropower Project.
According to the reportee of Roosevelt Security Agency, the ordnance was immediately reported to authorities to ensure public safety and prevent possible danger to the community.
After the successful Render Safe Procedure, the recovered ordnance was safely transported and temporarily stored at the PECU Rizal Magazine Depot for proper disposition.
The PNP-EOD/K9 Group continuously reminds the public to immediately report any suspicious objects or possible explosive ordnance to the nearest police station or EOD unit to prevent untoward incidents and ensure community safety.
