Welcome to Vila Pilar, located in Pilar da Bretanha, on the Ilha de São Miguel, Açores, Portugal!

It’s an honor to be in community with you - we are Ryan, Kathryn, and Luna, and in March 2025, we purchased Vila Pilar, which is now our home in a separate stone house on the property.

The Açores are shaped by fire and water—volcanic earth, thermal hot springs, ocean air, and deep green quiet.

There is a grounded, ancient, healing energy in the Açores that resonated with us immediately, and we cannot wait to share in it with you.

We have 3 apartments for rent: come heal in a volcanic paradise filled w/ hot springs, Black sand beaches, + lush sub-tropical flora and fauna. We can't wait to meet you!

We are 35 minutes from the main airport on São Miguel (PDL), 25 minutes from the Sete Cidades Village, 20 minutes from Ferraria Hot Springs (a natural, geothermal, ocean hot spring, and one of only 4-5 in the world(!)), and 10 minutes from the Mosteiros Natural Swimming Pools. A rental car is advised, and we can assist you with this upon request, as we work with a family-owned rental car agency.

*The property + apartments are child friendly.

*Vila Pilar is available for full property rentals, healing retreats + artist residencies, please inquire with interest.

*From June 1 to October 1, craft cocktails and charcuterie boards are available for purchase.
