Our Mountain Time Family has been shattered for the hearts of two of our very own, Chris and April. They are a mother/daughter duo that we love so dearly. Their world has been changed forever, and we stand solidly beside them and with them as they navigate their days forward.
We are a people of prayer and of great faith. We ask you to join with us in praying for their comfort and strength in the coming hours.
We covet your prayers and your kindness.

We believe that God is near to the brokenhearted.

Our Mountain Time Team loves you gals dearly, and are lifting you to Jesus. β€οΈπŸ™β€οΈ

From my heart, thank you Burnsville. It's been a beautiful weekend.
Our little town is the best place to throw a good festival, celebrate our heritage and enjoy our friends and family.
The Old Timey Fall Festival was a hit. There is a very small group of close friends that joined up together and made it happen this year!
Special thank you to AG Hammond, Madolyn Rogers, Chris and Chuck Carlson, Pete, Natalie and Juliana from the Yancey County Chamber of Commerce, , Chris from Sassy Gal Burnsville & Spruce Pinel, Dennis from Something Special Gift Shop Deanna from the Bougie, The Mountain Time gals, and my forever flood friends Larry the Chaos Coordinator, Jay and Kim, and Carl and Deitra.

We will compile an official thank you note soon.

Thank you to our wonderful sponsors, and to Catscratch the Sound Man. Thanks to Officer Buchanan for keeping things rolling during set up both days, and to Sherriff Shane Hilliard for coordinating the First Responder Breakfast.

Thank you to the Vendors that rolled with the punches this morning when we had some stray cars and bathrooms in random places. We have the best vendors. Period.

Thank you to the musicians and the dancers, where not one single thing went according to plan and they STILL absolutely rocked it.

Also thank you to my friend Sue who had a particularly bad day herself, that took such time and love having the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers handmade for me I've ever seen. Flowers are my love language and she hit my soul with them🌸🌼

A special recognition to The Hepburn Family, Pat and his girls and their families for continued support and leadership.

After about a million laps around the Square and up and down all the sidewalks in town, I came home this evening and crawled in bed with my sweet Mama. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.

I loved those few minutes with her, and she loved them with me❀️❀️.
I will spend more time with her, and begin thinking about Red, White and Burnsville. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Thank you for a fabulous weekend.
Sincerely.
❀️

This is "The Weekend" we remember so well. The one we may try to forget, but never will. It's the "before" of the storm.
We remember the first drop of rain. We remember the last one, too.
We remember the wind. Sounded like a train that just didn't stop. The way the clouds filled up and then literally dropped water for hours...and hours...and hours. Before the storm even started.
We remember realizing exactly how fast we were in very serious trouble. Very serious.
We remember the first people that showed up. The people that came to help. The people that didn't make it through. The people that still haven't been found. Those were our neighbors. We knew them, and we loved them.
We remember watching everything around us wash down the river. The mountains that we call home slide through our homes and our land. We saw our creeks and rivers completely change, forever. Our landscapes were obliterated and still two years later show deep, deep scars.
We remember watching businesses collapse, and have seen them not return. It's just been too much. We saw our bank accounts his zero and stay there.
We remember it all.
Even what we've tried to forget. You just don't forget these things.
We also haven't forgotten those that carried us. The strangers that have become family.
Truly family.
The groups that have poured into our community so deeply, and still are.
Every. Single. Day.
May we remain committed to rebuilding.
May we continue lifting one another up.
May we be as helpful today as we were were the days and weeks after the storm.
May we care as much about each other right now, as we did then.
May we share a bottle of water. A hot meal. Some extra supplies. Things for the children and the elderly. Food for the animals.
May we serve each other as deeply this day as we did that day.

It's been a tough season. A beautiful season. A season of loss. A season of gain.
May we be forever grateful that the Lord has been with us every step.
Even the ones in which we could not see.

Communities are stronger together.
Better together.
Connected forever.

On social media, I've always tried to keep business business, and personal personal.
In real life those two overlap by the minute.
By the heartbeat, actually. ❀️
If you've been around Mountain Time much at all in the past nearly 10 years, you've met my Mama. Or.... you at least know all about her.
She's a doll of a human. She is the most gracious and classy lady I know. She is the matriarch of our family, a pillar of our community and servant among her church. She defines kindness, peace, love, gentleness, faithfulness, generosity, patience, and every other good thing this life can bring.
Every. Good. Thing.
At this time, I am taking a very personal step away from work, to be with my Mama. My parents, husband, children and grandbabies are my absolute top priorities and I must tend to them well during this season.
They also tend to me so beautifully, as I am trying with all I have to make this time of our lives as a family a peaceful one.
I covet your prayers for my Mama, and I ask you to please be mindful that we are a very small business with a very large family. My girls at the Coffee Shop are also a very direct part of our care team and our daily decisions as a family. I ask for your grace with them as well.
Please love them deeply.
Chris, Sherrie, Sherry, Kendal, Angie, Emma and anyone else you may find at either Mountain Time Shop, as well as everyone at the Coffee Shop are absolutely able and very capable of helping you with anything you may need.
We so appreciate your support and your love.
I've been juggling as hard as I can juggle for the past few months with it all, but at this moment, I am taking a solid step away.
If you are able, please continue to support our small businesses and know that we sincerely thank you for it.
If you would please continue to pray for us to make good decisions, wise choices for our family and find the peace that we need in all those situations, we'd be grateful.
If you're my friend on social media or in real life, please keep being that person❀️

I'll be back. Just not today.

Thank you, and I love each of you that have become part of our story.
