Did you know Venice is slowly sinking by about 1 to 2 millimeters every year? Sinking plus the rising sea levels cause frequent high-tide floods known as acqua alta. St Marks Square floods 100-120 times per year!
So let’s book that trip!

About our ride… We chose to cruise the Greek islands rather than ferry so that we could visit more destinations. This is how we chose Celestyal Cruise, a small Greek cruise line offering the most incredible itineraries. We sailed the Idyllic Greece itinerary and landed on a new island every single day. The ship docked early and stayed late allowing us to take full advantage of the day- morning hikes, afternoon tours and amazing waterfront dinners. We loved this extended time immersed in the beautiful culture of each island.
Our ship, the Celestyal Journey, offered us a lovely small ship experience. While we certainly had our favorite spots—hello, Horizons, with your breathtaking views and clever mixology!—it was the exceptional staff who went above and beyond to make our trip so special. They decorated our room for our anniversary, serenaded us at dinner, reserved a spot for us at a show, remembered our names and our favorite drinks, asked about our day when we came in each night. They were amazing.

Hubby and I are just back from our anniversary trip to Greece. I cannot wait to share ALL THE THINGS, but I want to start with the most amazing Athens hotel.

I have to admit, I didn’t have high expectations about our visit to Athens. Well… I should have because we LOVED it! This had so much to do with the incredible, Electra Metropolis Athens!
From the beautiful decor and stunning city views to the easy walking distance to Athens landmarks, shopping and restaurants, this hotel truly was the perfect fit for us.

⭐️We enjoyed breakfast each morning from the rooftop overlooking the Acropolis.
⭐️We celebrated our anniversary one evening watching the sun set and the Acropolis light up.
⭐️We relaxed at the rooftop pool with a glass of w**e after a day trip to Corinth (more about that soon!)
⭐️We enjoyed our comfortable and spacious room with a view of the Acropolis and a French balcony to take in sights and sounds of the city.
⭐️I even took advantage of part of the indoor spa area- a relaxing indoor pool, sauna and steam room - the morning before heading out!

Not only was the hotel beautiful and amenities incredible, but the staff made us feel so special and celebrated. Thank you Electra Metropolis Athens for your unforgettable hospitality!
