🐾 Feature Friday: Meet Jo-Jo! 🐾

This week's Feature Friday spotlight belongs to our very own daycare boss, Jo-Jo! ❤️

Fun fact: We recently learned that Jo-Jo's entire litter was named after characters from the TV show Friends! While he started out as Joey, somewhere along the way he decided "Jo-Jo" suited him much better... and honestly, we couldn't agree more! 😆

Jo-Jo has been part of the Party Paws Playhouse family since he was just a little pup. Back in those days, we had to keep our feet up on the counter because he was absolutely determined to attack everyone's shoelaces! If your shoes had strings, they were fair game. 🎯👟

Fast forward to today, and that mischievous puppy has grown into a big, handsome boy who practically runs the daycare. Jo-Jo greets his friends and makes sure everyone knows he's in charge. Whether he's playing, investigating, or collecting attention from the staff, there's never a dull moment when Jo-Jo is around!

Help us celebrate one of our longtime PPP family members by dropping a ❤️ in the comments for Jo-Jo!

🐱 Oops... We may have missed National Cat Day yesterday, but our feline friends deserve to be celebrated every day! 🐱

At Party Paws Playhouse, we spend a lot of time celebrating our canine guests, but today we're giving a special shout-out to all the cats who rule their homes with an iron paw, knock things off counters for fun, and somehow convince us that we work for them.

Whether they're expert nappers, professional window watchers, or midnight zoomie champions, cats bring so much joy, entertainment, and love to our lives.

📸 Share a photo of your cat in the comments and tell us their funniest habit! My cats enjoying playtime with an unlucky cicada that got in the house.

Because let's be honest... cats don't care if we're a day late. They expect us to operate on their schedule anyway. 😹

P.S. While we may specialize in dogs, we're always happy to celebrate all the pets that make our lives better! 🐾❤️

🗣️ Tell Tail Thursday at Party Paws Playhouse! 🐾

Welcome to the very first Tell Tell Thursday!

Every Thursday, we'll have a little fun getting to know the amazing pups that make PPP such a special place. The idea is simple: either YOU tell us, or WE tell you! 😄

Now that you know your furbaby's personality, quirks, and unique style, here's today's question:

👇 If your dog could choose a new name based on their personality, what would it be?

Would your energetic zoomie expert be named Rocket? 🚀
Is your treat-loving pup really a Cookie? 🍪
Maybe your tiny bossy dog is actually a Chief? 👑
Or does your couch-loving cuddle bug answer better to Napster? 😴

Tell us in the comments: 🐶 Your fur baby's current name
🐾 What you'd rename them
❤️ Why it fits their personality

And don't be surprised if we jump into the comments and tell you what we think their name should be based on what we see at daycare! 😆

Let's have some fun and see who comes up with the most fitting name change!

🌟 Wellness Wednesday: Why Enrichment Matters 🌟

When most people think about keeping their dog healthy, they think about exercise. But did you know mental exercise is just as important? At Party Paws Playhouse, we know that a happy dog is more than just a tired dog and that's where enrichment comes in!

Enrichment activities give dogs the opportunity to use their natural instincts to sniff, search, lick, solve problems, and explore. From treat puzzles and sniffing games to lick mats and special one-on-one activities, enrichment keeps your pup's mind active and engaged.

Benefits of enrichment include:

🐾 Reduces boredom and destructive behaviors
🐾 Builds confidence and problem-solving skills
🐾 Helps relieve stress and anxiety
🐾 Provides healthy mental stimulation
🐾 Creates a happier, more fulfilled dog

A mentally stimulated dog is often calmer, happier, and more confident. That's why enrichment is such an important part of a well-rounded routine.

💙 The next time you bring your pup in for daycare or boarding, be sure to ask us about our enrichment options! We'd love to help make their stay even more fun, engaging, and rewarding.

🐾 Training Tip Tuesday: Leash Manners 🐾

-

Does your dog walk you instead of the other way around? You're not alone! Leash pulling is one of the most common challenges dog owners face.

-

✅ This Week's Training Tip: Reward your dog for staying by your side with a loose leash. If they begin pulling, stop walking and put them in a sit and wait for them to refocus on you before moving forward. This teaches them that pulling doesn't get them where they want to go.

------------------------------------------------
Remember: 🐾 Keep training sessions short and positive.
🐾 Reward the behavior you want to see by praising with a touch.
🐾 Consistency from everyone in the family is key.

🎓 Need help with leash manners or other obedience challenges?
Training is available right here at Party Paws Playhouse with Mr. K9! Whether you're working on basic commands, leash skills, confidence building, or behavior issues, professional guidance can help you and your pup succeed.

📞 Contact us to learn more about upcoming training opportunities and get your dog started on the path to better behavior.

🐶 What leash challenge are you currently working on with your dog? Tell us in the comments!

🐾 Meet the Pack Monday: King 🐾

Say hello to King! 👑

King may not visit us often, but he's been part of the Party Paws Playhouse family since the very beginning. Whenever he comes to stay, he settles right in and reminds us what a great pup he is. With those soulful eyes and gentle personality, it's hard not to fall in love with him!

We're so happy to have King back with the pack and spoiling him during his stay. ❤️

Temporary Closure Notice

Our hearts are with everyone in our community who has been affected by the recent tornado. Like so many of our neighbors, Party Paws Playhouse has experienced significant impacts from the storm.

To ensure the safety of our pets, clients, and team members, our facility will be closed until further notice as we assess the damage, clean up, and make the necessary repairs.

We know many families rely on us to care for their beloved pets, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this temporary closure may cause. Your patience, understanding, and the kindness you’ve already shown mean more to us than words can express.

We are committed to reopening as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we will continue to post updates here on our Google Business page as we make progress and have more information to share.

Thank you for standing with us during this challenging time. Together, our community will recover, and we look forward to welcoming you and your furry family members back to Party Paws Playhouse as soon as possible.

With gratitude,

The Party Paws Playhouse Team

Hi Party Paws Family,

We hope you and your pups are doing well. As a small business proudly shaped by Black leadership and community values, we would like to thank you.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a day of reflection, liberation, and celebration of progress. For us, it represents honoring history, acknowledging resilience, and continuing the work toward equality and community uplift.

We are grateful every day for the support you show our small business. Your trust, loyalty, and love for what we do allow us to keep creating a safe, joyful, and enriching space for your pets. Thank you for being part of the PPP family.

Warmly, Party Paws Playhouse
