🎉 ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🎉
This month, we are highlighting a Jackson FBLA alum who has continued to make an impact right here at Jackson R-2!
After graduating in 2002, she reflected on her time in FBLA, where she competed on the Entrepreneurship Team her junior and senior years, earning 1st place at districts both years and 4th place at state!
Some of her favorite memories include the meetings, trip, preparing reports, and friendships she made along the way. From late-night laughs over Wib’s to walking up and down 18 flights of stairs during a hotel fire alarm, FBLA gave her plenty of memories she will never forget!
Today, she serves as one of the Assistant Superintendents at Jackson R-2 School District and credits FBLA with helping her develop skills in networking, public speaking, decision-making, and leadership. These are skills she continues to use every day!
Her advice to current FBLA members?
“Be involved. Be active. Take risks and try new things. Do events you think you won’t be good at. Putting yourself out there will help create a better you!”
Fun Fact: Her mom was Jackson’s very first FBLA President! She also met her best friend, Alicia Alderson, through FBLA, a friendship that continues to this day!
We are so thankful for the lasting impact FBLA has had on our alumni and proud to see our former members continuing to make a difference in our community!
