I used to think turning off my phone and computer for a week was a luxury I couldn't afford.

Now I think it's a necessity.

I had convinced myself I needed to be reachable 24/7. I couldn't miss a booking, an inquiry, or an opportunity.

Last week though, I went completely unplugged.

For the first two days, I kept reaching for my phone out of habit. But after that, I felt like a new person.

🍋 We ran a lemonade stand.
🏕️ We camped in our backyard.
❤️ We spent quality time together as a family.

One evening, I was sitting by the fire built with sticks the kids and I had collected throughout the week. As I watched the flames, I realized something:

I didn't have a single thought in my head.

Just peace.

I didn't realize how long it had been since I'd experienced that.

The business survived. The world kept turning. And for one week, my attention belonged to my family instead of my phone.

I'll definitely do it again next year. And God willing, our business will be thriving enough that I can hand the phone off to someone else for a week instead of shutting everything down.

If you've been toThe Trieschmann House, you've probably noticed these scattered all around the house. But do you know what they are?

They're coasters! 🤯

I'll admit, I had no clue what they were at first. Then one day I spotted a huge lot of them at a Hill's Auction and Liquidation Services sale and thought, "Hey! I have a bunch of those already!" 😂

Naturally, I had to bid on them and ended up getting the whole lot for next to nothing! 🏆

I did a Google image search and learned they were originally produced in the 1960s. They were marketed for all sorts of uses, not just as drink coasters, but also as decorative pieces and serving accessories. ✨

Functional and beautiful... my favorite combination. ❤️

I have another story about sweet Annabelle, the 2025 Teen Miss Crossett PRCA Rodeo. ❤️👑

Back in April, Annabelle, her mom Amy Rogers, and her "RiRi" Rita Parrish stayed with us at The Trieschmann House.

I quickly learned that Annabelle is the real deal—kind, hardworking, and genuinely invested in serving others. 💯

While she was here, she was constantly on the go: getting up early for radio interviews, spending full days visiting sponsors, and even hosting a beautiful community-wide tea party to support the rodeo and build connections throughout our area. 🎙🤠☕️

The weekend was busy for all of us, so I didn't get to spend nearly as much time with them as I would have liked. But from the time I did spend with their family, it was easy to see why Annabelle carries herself with such grace. Her mom and grandmother were every bit as warm, gracious, and classy as she is. 🫶

It was a privilege to host these wonderful ladies, and we're grateful they chose The Trieschmann House during their visit.🏡

Thank you for the positive impact you've made on your community and everyone fortunate enough to meet you. We loved having you here! ❤️
